Meet Eloana
Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Eloana Braga has always felt a deep connection to nature. Weekends spent exploring the vibrant beaches and the lush trails of Tijuca Forest ignited her lifelong passion for the ocean and charted her course for an inspiring future.
“My mother has always been my greatest influence,” Eloana shares. “She’s strong, hardworking, and determined, and she taught me to push beyond my limits.” That encouragement inspired Eloana to explore her fascination with water and ships by pursuing a career in naval architecture and marine engineering.
Today, she serves as our Port Operations Coordinator at Terminal Gás Sul (TGS) in Santa Catarina, Brazil. She manages ship-to-ship transfers, upholds best industry practices at the Terminal, and handles the operational interface with the Maritime Authority, Port Authority, and Pilotage. She is also responsible for managing port logistics and maintaining compliance with national and international regulations. She makes certain that all necessary resources are in place to guarantee smooth and efficient operations.
Eloana is especially proud to be one of the few women operating LNG terminals and managing ship-to-ship operations — particularly because she has been involved in the development of both projects in Brazil.
“I monitor operational parameters to ensure the highest efficiency and availability of the terminal, including smooth daily communication with the FSRU Captain,” she says. “Every day brings new challenges and new opportunities to grow and have a positive impact on our community and our planet.”
At New Fortress Energy, Eloana has found her own natural home.
“I love the culture of innovation, the focus on sustainability, and our active role in the global energy transition,” she says. “Working with honest, committed, inspiring people powers me with positive energy. When work serves a good purpose — such as bringing clean energy — it’s the perfect combination.”
Persistent, compassionate, and always prepared, Eloana is fueled by challenges, the opportunity to meet people, and the chance to discover places she has never seen before. Her aspirations span the globe: travel to new countries, experience new cultures, and even learn a new language.
