Happy
Father’s Day

At New Fortress Energy, we know that power isn’t just about energy and infrastructure. It’s also about people who power our world in simple yet meaningful ways: by showing up, setting an example, and shaping the next generation with love, strength, and care.

This Father’s Day, we’re proud to spotlight three dads on our team whose wisdom and dedication power more than just our facilities — they help fuel families, friendships, and futures. And to all the fathers and father figures who lead with love — thank you, and happy Father’s Day from all of us at NFE.

Meet Natalio

Be humble, be responsible, pay attention to detail, and work hard… and value family above all else. - Natalio Hernandez, Senior Maintenance Technician, Electrical and Instrumentation, San Juan, Puerto Rico

Natalio Hernandez joined New Fortress Energy in 2019, and he now supervises our technical equipment and ensures compliance with electrical safety standards and efficiency. He appreciates the discipline, responsibility, humility, integrity, and team spirit that he learned from his own father and hones on the job — and that he now strives to pass those same values on to his children.

“I explain to them that, just like in my job, achieving good results in life requires effort, focus, and commitment,” Natalio explains. “I advise them to be humble, be responsible, pay attention to detail, and work hard for what they want. I teach them that respect and honesty open many doors, and that they should value family above all else. I also tell them not to be afraid of making mistakes, because that’s how we learn and grow.”

He enjoys sharing family experiences with his colleagues, who also inspire him as a father.

“I learn from their stories, advice, and approaches to the challenges of parenthood,” he says. “They motivate me to improve every day — both professionally and personally. Their support and teamwork remind me how important it is to be present and to set a good example for my children.”

He looks forward to Father’s Day as a time to recognize the effort, dedication, and love that dads give their children every day. His celebration typically includes a special lunch with his family.

“Father’s Day represents a moment to spend time together and give thanks for the blessing of being a father,” he explains. “It’s a day that reminds me how important it is to be present in my children’s lives, to guide them with love, and to be a role model for them. Being a father is a great responsibility, often carried out quietly. This day reminds us how meaningful that role truly is.”

Meet Jeffrey

It’s about consistency. Being present. Being someone my kids can count on.” - Jeffrey Wrubel, IT Business Relationship Manager, New York, USA

Jeffrey Wrubel leads business transformations, turning big-picture strategy into concrete, measurable outcomes.

It’s the same kind of approach he takes to raising his children — keeping a balanced perspective between ambitious goals and the everyday moments that help us get there.

“I remind my kids that life won’t always go as planned — and that’s okay,” Jeffrey says. “What matters is how we respond. I try to pass on the importance of accountability, teamwork, and lifelong learning. I encourage them to stay curious, to lead with kindness, and to not be afraid of failure, because that’s where real growth happens. Above all, I want them to know that they don’t have to have it all figured out — they just need to keep moving forward.”

His coworkers help keep him attentive to the importance of empathy, patience, and collaboration — qualities he knows matter just as much at home as they do at work.

“Watching how others balance career and family,” he notes, “and how they lead with kindness and integrity, inspires me to be more present, more intentional, and more grounded as a parent.”

Jeffrey also channels the lessons learned from his own father, a man he describes as “an eternal optimist” who sees the good in every situation.

“My father’s unwavering positivity and belief that things will work out have deeply shaped how I approach life and leadership,” he says. “That mindset has shaped how I lead, how I problem-solve, and how I show up for others. It’s a reminder that perspective is powerful — and that optimism, when grounded in action, can be a strength.”

Each year, Father’s Day offers Jeffrey and his family a special opportunity to show up for each other.

“Father’s Day is not about big gestures,” says Jeffrey, who plans to celebrate simply this year with a good meal and good times with his family. “It’s about consistency. Being present. Being someone my kids can count on. And making sure they always feel loved, seen, and supported — no matter what. It’s about recognizing the quiet, steady impact we have in each other’s lives. Father’s Day is a powerful reminder of the kind of father I strive to be, every single day.”

Meet Octavio

“Life is better with the hug of a loving father.” - Octavio Renova Flores, Operations Manager, Baja California Sur, Mexico

After spending more than 14 years commissioning, operating, and maintaining liquefied natural gas facilities, Octavio Renova Flores is now in charge of our regasification activities at our La Paz, Mexico, terminals.

He loves learning, especially from his teammates.

“Every day my coworkers show me that we are all are working toward the same target, but we each have different perspectives,” he says. “Seeing the context and challenges of others helps us never lose the path, and recognizing our own mistakes rapidly helps us learn much faster.”

Octavio’s father paved the way for his interest in understanding and supporting others.

“My father was a taxi driver for more than 30 years, and he gave us more than a house or education,” he recalls. “He gave us the example of strength and love no matter the circumstances. There was never a lack of a hug, a smile, or the spirit that everything would be okay.”

He aims to bring that same uplifting spirit to his own family.

“Life is better with the hug of a loving father,” he says. ”I embrace the challenge and responsibility of trying to transfer all the love that my father and mother gave me to help my sons be even better. I remind them to enjoy everything, and if someday they have the chance to be a father, to remember the simple power of a hug.”

For Octavio, Father’s Day is a special time to enjoy the pleasure of being a father while celebrating his love for his own.

“We all are in different parts of Mexico, but we try to join the family to spend the day all together,” he says. “I make sure to tell and show my father that I love him, and to let my boys know that all that I know as a father is due to their grandpa.”
