Father’s Day
At New Fortress Energy, our people are at the heart of everything we do. While they help power communities around the world through their work, many are also making an equally important impact at home, as fathers, mentors, and role models.
This Father’s Day, we’re celebrating two NFE team members whose commitment to leadership, hard work, and family extends far beyond the workplace. Whether they're leading offshore operations, managing critical plant systems, mentoring colleagues, or guiding their children through life, fathers across NFE demonstrate the same values that make our company stronger, and continue to power with positive energy at home and at our facilities.
Meet Alex
“Always believe in yourself and never let fear stop you from chasing your goals. Be kind to people, work hard, and remember that your character and how you treat others will always matter more than anything else.”
As an LNG Offshore Shift Supervisor supporting offshore LNG operations in Altamira, Mexico, Alex Verret brings more than 20 years of offshore experience to his role. From overseeing control room and field operations to supporting emergency response and production optimization, Alex understands the importance of leadership, accountability, and teamwork.
For Alex, Father’s Day is an opportunity to reflect on both the privilege and responsibility of being a father. “Working offshore means spending time away from my family, so moments with my wife and two kids are something I never take for granted,” he says.
Alex credits much of his approach to fatherhood to his own father, who taught him the value of hard work, integrity, and showing up for the people who matter most. “Watching the way he handled responsibilities, treated people, and stayed committed to our family helped shape the kind of husband, father, and leader I strive to be today.”
Those lessons influence the advice Alex shares with his children. He encourages them to believe in themselves, treat others with kindness and respect, and never let fear stand in the way of their goals.
His career has also reinforced important life skills that he hopes to pass along to the next generation. “Patience, organization, communication, teamwork, and accountability are values that help people succeed both personally and professionally,” he says.
This year, Alex will celebrate Father’s Day at Disney World with his wife and children, creating memories and enjoying quality time together, a reminder of what motivates him every day.
Meet Kevin
“My father taught me how to love myself, so I’ll know how to love others and treat people as I’d like to be treated, which is very much needed on this day in time.”
Senior LNG Operator Kevin Bell has spent more than 15 years in the oil and gas industry, previously helping build submarines and aircraft carriers for the U.S. Navy. Today, he helps oversee safe and efficient LNG plant operations, bringing a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and leadership to his work.
For Kevin, Father’s Day is about recognizing the people who helped shape him into the man he is today. “It’s a time to reflect on the love, life lessons, and sacrifices my dad made and continues to make for me every day,” he says.
Although his father did not always have a steady father figure in his own life, he still passed down powerful lessons about hard work, responsibility, self-respect, and treating others with kindness. Those same principles are now at the center of Kevin’s approach to parenting. “I tend to replicate and instill the same principles and core values in my kids,” he says.
Throughout his career, Kevin has also found inspiration from mentors and colleagues who stepped up when guidance was needed. “There’s always that one person who takes you under their wing,” he says. “Those workforce father figures helped keep me on the right path and played a big role in my success.”
Kevin believes the workplace teaches valuable lessons that extend beyond the job, including communication, problem-solving, patience, humility, respect, and dedication—qualities he hopes his children will carry with them throughout their lives.
This Father’s Day, Kevin and his family will celebrate with a cookout, spending time together, strengthening their bond, and creating new memories.
