Our team
is changing
the world

At New Fortress Energy, progress toward a more sustainable world happens one day - and one dedicated team - at a time. Our liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal employees are right at the heart of it all. Go behind the scenes to see how NFE’s people receive, store, and regasify LNG to deliver energy that lights homes and powers communities. These are their stories, in their own words.

Meet Carolina

What does a typical day at the terminal look like for you?

My workday starts from home with updates during our 6:30 a.m. daily operations call. At the office, I check emails and review operational conditions to ensure gas consumption is within the expected range. Then it’s updating databases, scheduling and coordinating the movement of natural gas, tracking imbalances, attending meetings, handling regulatory reports, reviewing procedures, overseeing contracts, and communicating with team members - all while monitoring plant parameters and consumption.

What systems or tools do you rely on the most?

I rely on tools including the AVEVA PI Vision dashboard; PI DataLink to retrieve, analyze, and report on data; S&P Global Platts for energy pricing updates; and the Microsoft Office suite.

How does your branch of New Fortress Energy reinforce safety?

Our health, safety, security, and environmental policies motivate me to always remember that safety comes first. In the office, strong leadership empowers everyone to work safely and prepare for emergencies.

What makes your terminal different from other NFE terminals?

I appreciate our proactive, company-wide approach to health, safety, security, and the environment. It shines through in our daily actions and our approach. We’re committed to open and honest communication and continuous improvement. I’m proud to be a part of it.

How do you collaborate with your team members throughout the day?

I prefer talking through things face-to-face, since it’s usually the fastest and most effective way to solve problems and keep everything on track. I also believe it’s important to value others’ ideas and professional backgrounds, because it makes our team stronger.

What do you want others to know about your job?

Working in this sector allows you to integrate technical and commercial knowledge. As a chemical engineer studying for my master’s degree in finance, I’ve realized how engineering and market operations complement each other, and that’s helping me do my job better.

Also, natural gas is playing a key role as a transition fuel toward cleaner energy. NFE’s smooth operations are focused on sustainability and innovation, all while helping reduce carbon emissions worldwide.

Our atmosphere is respectful, and people are collaborative. We value ideas and encourage innovation. I feel connected to our mission to deliver affordable, reliable, and clean energy, and I’m proud to be part of moving the world in this direction. It’s great to know that my work makes a difference, both in how things run day-to-day and in the transition to energy sources with a lower carbon footprint.
