Head of the Port Authority of Jamaica (PAJ) Professor Gordon Shirley says he is excited about the availability of liquified natural gas (LNG) in the island. According to Shirley, LNG will not only result in the price of electricity being reduced, but it will offer an alternative energy source to several industries across western Jamaica. "It also introduces an important new energy alternative which can be expected to be important for a number of industries in the country, and particularly those in western Jamaica," the PAJ boss emphasised.
