Meet William
Born and raised in vibrant, dynamic Mexico City, William grew up surrounded by energy and constant movement. From an early age, he was instilled with core values, responsibility, respect, environmental stewardship, and a strong work ethic, that would shape both his personal and professional life. This foundation led him to pursue a degree in Chemical Engineering with a specialization in Environmental Engineering followed by a Masters in Project Management.
“My mother has been my greatest influence,” William shares. “She taught me that resilience, consistency, and adaptability are the pillars of success.” He lives by a mantra she passed on to him: “Today is a new day to do things even better than yesterday.” This mindset fuels his daily approach, keeping him focused on continuous improvement and living fully in the present.
Driven by a deep-seated belief that doing the right thing should always be the standard, William set out to build a career that balances operational success with the protection of a company’s most valuable asset, its people. This philosophy ultimately led him to NFE.
Today, William serves as Senior HSSEQ & Regulatory Compliance Manager for both Mexico locations: the FLNG1 facility in Altamira, as well as the La Paz terminal and power plant. In this role, he is responsible for enhancing, standardizing, and expanding HSSE processes across national operations, including oversight of both facilities and marine operations. His primary focus is ensuring full regulatory compliance while fostering a culture of safety excellence across every facet of NFE’s presence in Mexico.
“The flexibility to engage in out of the box thinking is what I like most about NFE,” William says. “NFE allows us to develop concrete, innovative solutions for large-scale strategic projects, ultimately delivering cleaner energy to our communities and helping transform the energy sector.”
Committed, resilient, and reliable, William is motivated by creating a positive, tangible impact on people’s lives, generating a domino effect of safety, trust, and synergy. He is driven by the knowledge that his work helps ensure employees return home safely each day while minimizing the company’s environmental footprint. By implementing local actions with global impact, William contributes to building a better world for future generations.
“Seeing safety and environmental care transition from a requirement to a personal value within our workforce is my greatest professional achievement,” he reflects. “Knowing that our protocols directly result in families staying whole is what truly matters.”
