Celebrating back-to-school in Puerto Rico with facepainting and new supplies

OUR FOUNDATION

Providing positive energy for the new school year

New Fortress Energy and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico teamed up for the fourth year in a row to help students get ready for the new school year.

Hundreds of students in Bayamón and Las Margaritas, Puerto Rico, jump-started their education this year at the fourth annual back-to-school fair hosted by New Fortress Energy at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico.

Against the background of the musical entertainment of master of ceremonies Trotamundos, 400 students and their parents toured the events to receive dental hygiene education from the Puerto Rico Department of Health; glucose testing from the Puerto Rico College of Medical Technologists; haircuts sponsored by Abraham Salon; and 600 backpacks filled with paper, calculators, pencils, and other materials. Facepainting, balloon figures, snacks, and lunch boxes rounded out the programming.

“It was an amazing work and event,” said Carolina Capote, Corporate Partnership Manager at Boys & Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico. “It was so much fun for kids and families, and a special moment because kids were happy to see each other again. Seeing our participants enjoying the event is the best reward. Thanks to New Fortress Energy for giving to the communities a day they will never forget."
