Empowering lives, one smile at a time

50 reasons
to smile

New Fortress Energy recently teamed up with the University of the Amazon (Unama) to provide dental care for 50 children from the Fazendinha community in Barcarena, Pará.

NFE providing children with dental care

Unama dentistry students applied fluoride, taught children how to brush their teeth correctly, and talked to families about the importance of oral hygiene for overall health. All children received a kit with a toothbrush, toothpaste, and dental floss, as well as booklets with educational activities from our environmental education program. The students and teachers will continue to provide follow-up care for children with ongoing conditions.

The event was the latest in our philanthropy efforts throughout this region, where we’re bringing liquefied natural gas to power northern Brazil!

“I was born and raised in Barcarena, and I know how difficult it is to have access to information and professional dental care,” said Rayanne Souza of Unama’s student team. “I am so happy to be a part of this event because this didn’t exist when I was a kid, and today we can make a difference for these families.”

We were excited to sink our teeth into this project and give back to the communities where we operate!
